By accessing or using What’s Next Chef? (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

What’s Next Chef? is an AI-powered recipe generation application that suggests recipes based on ingredients you have available. The App uses artificial intelligence to generate recipe suggestions, cooking instructions, nutritional information, and food images. The service is provided “as is” and is intended for informational and entertainment purposes.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
All activities that occur under your account
Providing accurate and complete information
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have parental consent to use the App.

4. Subscription and Payments

Pricing

Premium features are available through subscription:

Monthly subscription: £3/month
Annual subscription: £30/year (save 17%)

Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis
Payment will be charged to your app store account at confirmation of purchase
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your app store account settings (Apple App Store or Google Play Store)

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

Free Trial

We may offer a free trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the subscription.

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Recipe suggestions, nutritional information, and images are generated by artificial intelligence and should be used as guidance only.

You acknowledge and agree that:

AI-generated recipes may contain errors or inaccuracies
Nutritional information is estimated and may not be accurate
AI may occasionally suggest unusual or unsuitable ingredient combinations
Cooking times and temperatures may vary based on equipment, altitude, and conditions
Food images are AI-generated and may not represent the actual outcome

You must:

Always verify cooking times and temperatures for food safety
Check all ingredients for allergens before cooking
Use your own judgment when preparing meals
Consult medical professionals for dietary or health advice
Supervise children in the kitchen at all times

We are not responsible for any adverse effects, illness, injury, or damages resulting from following AI-generated recipes.

6. Food Safety Warning

Cooking involves inherent risks. You are solely responsible for food safety in your kitchen. We strongly recommend:

Following proper food handling and storage guidelines
Cooking meats to safe internal temperatures
Being aware of cross-contamination risks
Checking expiration dates on ingredients
Consulting official food safety guidelines from your local health authority

7. Allergies and Dietary Restrictions

While the App allows you to set dietary preferences and filters, AI-generated recipes may still contain allergens or ingredients unsuitable for your dietary needs. Always carefully review all ingredients before cooking, especially if you or anyone consuming the food has allergies, intolerances, or medical dietary requirements.

We do not guarantee that recipes will be free from any specific allergens.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
Interfere with or disrupt the App’s functionality
Copy, modify, or distribute App content without permission
Use automated systems, bots, or scrapers to access the App
Share your account credentials with others
Impersonate any person or entity
Upload malicious code or content
Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, functionality, trademarks, and branding of the App are owned by What’s Next Chef? and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission
Use our trademarks or branding without authorization
Remove any copyright or proprietary notices

AI-Generated Content: Recipes generated for you may be saved and used for your personal, non-commercial purposes only.

10. User Content

If you submit any content to the App (such as feedback or recipe suggestions), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, modify, and display that content for the purpose of improving our services.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

WHAT’S NEXT CHEF?, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Personal injury or illness
Food poisoning or allergic reactions
Property damage
Loss of data
Loss of profits or revenue
Any other damages arising from your use of the App or reliance on AI-generated recipes

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, OR £50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless What’s Next Chef?, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of:

Your use of the App
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any rights of another party
Any food prepared using recipes from the App

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Warranties of merchantability
Fitness for a particular purpose
Non-infringement
Accuracy or completeness of content
Uninterrupted or error-free operation

We do not warrant that the App will meet your requirements or that any errors will be corrected.

14. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

15. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the App at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe:

Violates these Terms
Is harmful to other users, us, or third parties
Constitutes fraud or illegal activity

Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and What’s Next Chef? regarding the use of the App and supersede any prior agreements.
